World of Waste Tour

Thank you to all the parents (Anna, Mike, Craig, Salli, Lynnette and Cathy) who accompanied our class on the WOW tour on Thursday 10th - very much appreciated!

 At the Dowse Art museum - Jen showed us how to make piupius, brushes using harakeke leaves and also told us stories about the pataka.

 Piupiu is made out of harakeke and it's a very special garment that the Maori women spent days and hours putting it together.

 we are making brushes using the seashell to scrape the green bits off the harakeke leaf

 Wow, the parents are working so hard together !
